As the crow flies, the reserve of farm 215 is 10 km from the ocean. The coastal stretch of the Southern Overberg is the best spot in the world to see whales from shore and the local waters are the breeding grounds of the Great white shark. Farm 215 is part of the Walker Bay Conservancy, one of the main safe havens of the threatened fynbos vegetation with a plethora of hiking, mountain biking and horse trails. Beautiful villages such as Victorian Stanford and the Elim, a national heritage site, are surrounded by a vast natural landscape.
