The Thesium euphorbioides is a root parasite which can grow up to 2m and grows in dense colonies on rocky slopes. The impressive Retzia capensis, which can also grow up to 2m is the only species in its genus and an Overberg endemic with two separated distribution areas. The distribution of the Lachnaea aurea is restricted to the coastal stretch between Hermanus and Cape Agulhas and its red data status is "vulnerable", though it is very common in the reserve. Of the genus Gnidia, there are an estimated 50 species represented in fynbos. The typically flowered Nemesia genus has about 25 species in fynbos.
