Various lobelia species occur in the reserve. All of them have small flowers (as is mostly the case in the Campanulacea family) and most have very similar bluish flowers. The flowers of the plants of the Brunia family are mostly shaped as compact balls. Many plants of the Brunia family are harvested for the cut flower trade before the flowers open in order to supply stems with neat round balls. The Brunia laevis resurfaces from its rootstock after fire and is endemic to the Overberg. The Berzilia lanuginosa needs permanent moisture and a clump of this species on a mountain slope is an indicator of "fountains". The Lobostemon lucidus, endemic to the Overberg is a red data species listed as "vulnerable".
